Naturpark

Naturpark Bergisches Land
The Naturpark Bergisches Land is situated between the Cologne-Bonn lowlands in the west, the Sauerland hills in the east, the Westerwald in the south, and the league of Bergisch towns comprising Wuppertal, Remscheid and Solingen in the north and has a total surface of approximately 2,000 square kilometres.

Being a tourist area and a recreation resort for ten to twelve million people living in the Cologne-Bonn region, the so-called Niederbergische Land, and the Ruhr area, the Naturpark has been continuously gaining importance since its very beginning.

Naturpark Bergisches Land

The federal motorways A1, A3, A4 and A45 as well as the Siegtal railway and the city express Cologne – Gummersbach facilitate a fast arrival not only for those who come from the cities on the rivers Rhine, Ruhr, Wupper, and Sieg but also for those who have to travel from remote parts of Germany, from the northern countries, from Belgium, the Netherlands, and France to the Bergische Land. Within the borders of the Naturparks, the Verkehrsverbund
Rhein-Sieg (VRS)
and the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) (both are groups of providers for public transportation) make sure you can reach all places, even those out of the way, with the help of the public bus transportation system.
